This is our immense pleasure to write about aspiring women entrepreneurs from Dera Ghazi Khan who are traveling to Islamabad to attend, Emerging Women Entrepreneurs’ Week (EWEW) by SFEA.
Finally, DG Khan’s girls are going towards entrepreneurship. Women Can Do II project successfully challenged and rejected the preconceived social/ gender biases and taboos attached with Women Entrepreneur-ship in Pakistan. Through collaborating with Women Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Public Women universities, Religious Seminaries (Women only) and successful Pakistani Entrepreneurs the project directly benefited sensitized the public regarding women entrepreneurship, besides encouraging, training and providing mentor-ship to young Pakistani women to be more proactive and competitive to grow, develop, progress and prosper.
The project had a two-pronged strategy;
- Training and mentoring students of women universities and religious seminaries to become entrepreneurs and efficient job hunters
- Rallying and advocating with policy and financial services organizations in favor of providing greater space and opportunities to women entrepreneurs in Pakistan.
The project successfully reached out to 3000 students in Public Women universities and religious seminaries for females. WCD is having first-ever Emerging Women Entrepreneurs’ Week (EWEW) to be held from 6th Aug. 2018 to 10th Aug. 2018 at NIC Islamabad by Shaoor Foundation for Education and Awareness.
